Your Privacy
The Oregon Humane Society (OHS) and the volunteers who work on this site collect information to help us communicate with you regarding pet rescue issues and notifications from the Oregon Humane Society.
What information do we collect? How do we use it?
We currently collect information provided to OHS via the online application and from attempts to update information included on the site. By providing information to be listed on the web site you give OHS and its volunteers your permission to send you information we would like you to know. You can request that OHS and its volunteers quit sending you information by writing to Director of Shelter Operations, Oregon Humane Society, PO Box 11364, Portland, OR 97211-0364 - or by sending an email to operations@oregonhumane.org. You may also email the site webmaster at admin@nwdogrescue.com.
How is your information protected?
When you submit an application for inclusion on the web site your information is stored on a personal computer, a secure web server, and possibly in OHS filing cabinets. Reasonable effort is made to protect the information stored on the personal computer, web server or in OHS files but OHS and its volunteers do not warrant the safety of the information since the personal computer is NOT a secure server and some volunteers may have access to the non-computerized files.
"Cookies" are small pieces of information that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive. When you visit www. nwdogrescue.com (Pet Rescue Groups of Oregon and Washington) a cookie is placed on your hard drive. The cookie does not collect any personally identifying information, but allows you to skip the first page of the site on future visits. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually change your browser to prevent that.
Will OHS or its volunteers disclose the information it collects
to outside parties?
OHS and its volunteers currently do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information collected on this web site to others. However, OHS and its volunteers may choose to do so in the future with trustworthy third parties. Prior to changing the current policy, notification will be given on this page. Check back often if you are concerned about the release of any information given to OHS.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. We use the information we collect on the site to communicate with you - especially on pet rescue issues. We currently do not sell, trade, or rent your information to others. We may choose to do so in the future with trustworthy third parties, but our privacy policy will reflect the change prior to any sale, trade or rent.
By submitting information to the Oregon Humane Society you consent to the collection and use of your supplied information by OHS and its volunteers. In addition, by visiting this site you understand that a 'cookie' is being placed on your hard drive. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it. Please check back often to ensure that you are aware of our privacy policies.
